The BDD Books - Automation with SpecFlow

The BDD Books - Automation with SpecFlow

About the Book

This is a practical, technical book, written specifically for developers and technical testers. The book starts by explaining the reasons that BDD exists in the first place and describes techniques for getting the most out of collaboration between technical and non-technical team members. It then goes on to illustrate the entire development process with reference to a working application - WIMP (Where Is My Pizza?).

Further chapters cover the details of how SpecFlow can be used to automate the testing of various types of software, including web UIs, asynchronous processes, databases, services etc. Finally, we look at how to maintain your executable specification/living documentation as they grow to enterprise scale, by exploring common refactoring patterns and giving actionable advice on how to structure your feature files.

Each piece of advice is illustrated by using WIMP as both the context and the solution, allowing the reader to see not only what is being advised, but also understand why it really is good advice.
