About the Book
"Project U - An Escape Room Game for remote teams'' is a high intensity and fun team building activity for your distributed or remote team. The use case includes playing this activity as an ice breaker at the start of a distributed workshop, as an activity during your next offsite or townhall or at the start of problem framing in virtual design sprints. As you can see, the possibilities are endless. I invented this game last year (2019) when asked to facilitate a full-day planning workshop for a 60 member strong team distributed across 8 locations worldwide: Melbourne (Australia), Sydney (Australia), Adelaide(Australia), Brisbane (Australia), Perth (Australia), Townsville (Australia), Manila (Philippines) & Mumbai (India). The team completed this virtual Escape room game in around 21.3 mins (excluding a debrief of 15 minutes post finishing the game) where they solved a number of puzzles, ciphers and investigated objects for clues.
This little ebook shares with the readers how to run such activity in your context as well as how you can add it as a tool while running workshops ranging from ideation, product discovery, Digital Strategy using Wardley Maps, Problem Framing, Virtual Design Sprints, Lightening Decision Jam, Group/Team Kickoffs etc. An extras file will be included in subsequent iterations of this little book that will have Powerpoint decks, handouts, Workshop plans, agendas, Participant Workbooks, Playbooks etc. All of these techniques and approaches are battle tested and iterated upon by me while working as an Agile Coach in different Organizations.
