About the Book
In this book, you will find two versions of a workshop for PO's.
A one hour: PO as a service and the full day PO retreat.
* The one hour version is aimed at internal PO communities for large companies.
* The one day is aimed at PO communities outside companies.
It's important to know that this workshop is inspired by CodeRetreat & CoachRetreat.
CodeRetreat was invented by Corey Haines
Corey invented CodeRetreat, because he realised something important.
He compared the difference between musicians and developers. Musicians spend most of their time practising playing an instrument or playing together. And only once in a while they play a concert. Where developers are constant working on code that is aimed a going to production. So in CodeRetreat, the goal is to practise coding, and not use the code.
The PO as a service workshop is aimed at doing the same.
The goal of the workshop, is to practise creating better stories. The goal is NOT to improve the current stories that the PO's bring.
I have been wondering fo a long time, how to create a workshop to teach people to create better stories. I never liked the formats where you aks people to create stories about a fiction problem. Even if it was a real existing prior client, as a participant, I was detached from the problem. And then I realised there was a different part to CodeRetreat that was also an important part of the succes, in CodeRetreat (and CoachRetreat) we have defined exercises on how to practise.
And thus this workshop & book were born.
